REconstruction and development

This is a sculpture called reconstruction and development , the theme of the piece is growth . ..The wings represent freedom and fallen struggle veterans , they are landing to form a house , in my idea of a larger public sculpture these flying bricks would be taking off from a wall which would symbolize separation , this separation would be transformed into a house with a window which would be there to encourage dialogue . The roots of the influence came from my time as a student when I was involved with politics , this was during the late eighties in South Africa when we all suffered under an unjust political system .
